Perfect Yeast Bread!

After my Irish soda bread recipe many of you have asked me for a bread recipe without buttermilk so here go the white bread recipe with yeast. This delicious white bread requires only 6 ingredients:
▪ ︎Flour
▪︎ Water
▪︎ Yeast
▪ ︎Salt
▪︎ Sugar
▪︎ Butter

No matter you are beginner or experienced  this is easy and fool proof to make! I am sure you are going to love it! You can also replace the all the purpose flour with whole wheat flour if you prefer brown bread. The brown bread will give you denser texture but will taste awesome.

Notes

▪︎ Water: warm water helps to activate the yeast. Do not use hot water or you may kill the yeast.

▪︎ Sugar: Sugar is used to feed the yeast. Do not use more quantity of sugar it can damage yeast. Here in this recipe I am using  2 tbsp of sugar to feed 1 tbsp of yeast.

▪︎ Salt: Salt is used to enhance the flavour.

▪︎ Wheat Flour: If you are using whole wheat flour then the quantity of warm water required to knead the dough may vary depending  on the wheat flour.

▪︎ Texture: Texture of the dough must be smooth and slightly sticky when touched with a clean finger.

Preparation Time : 25 Minutes
Resting Time: 1.25 Hrs
Total Time: 2.20 Hrs
Yield: 470 grams loaf

Ingredients

▪︎ All purpose flour - 2 1/2 cups
▪︎ Dry yeast - 1 tbsp
▪︎ Sugar  - 2 tbsp
▪︎ Warm water - 11/4th cup
▪︎ Salt as per taste
▪︎ Butter - 2 tbsp
▪︎ Milk to brush on top.
▪ Sesame seeds (optional)

Procedure

▪︎ In a bowl take 1/4th cup of warm water , yeast and sugar give it a nice stir and keep aside by covering it with lid for 10 minutes.

▪︎ After 10 minutes, in a large mixing  bowl take all purpose  flour and add the yeast mixture to it. Mix well with the help of spatula.

▪︎ Now add salt and start adding warm water little by little and check the dough. Once you get a nice smooth dough stop adding the water. The texture of the dough must be slightly sticky when touched with a clean finger.

▪︎ Add butter and again knead the dough and make a ball.

▪︎ Grease a bowl with butter and place the dough and leave it for 45 minutes.  Cover the bowl either with a towel or wrap the bowl with cling wrap.

▪︎ After 45 minutes the dough will be of double the original size, then punch in the middle to release the air. Lay the dough onto the flat surface and roll up and place it in a greased loaf pan.

▪︎ Cover the loaf pan with cling wrap or a cloth and leave it for another 30 minutes.

▪︎ After 30 minutes brush some milk on it and sprinkle some seasame seeds.

▪︎ Preheat the oven to 200 C and then bake the loaf for 30 minutes at 180 C.

▪︎ Once it is baked rub butter on the top and cover it with a towel and let it cool completely for 2 hours and then slice the bread.

We always crave for one and only one thing during sunny summer days i.e ice cream, which gives us a quick boost of energy. Ice cream might be the first food that you reach for in this season.
